German go professional Hans Pietsch has been the cruel victim of an armed robbery while on a Go promotional tour for the Nihon Ki-in in Guatemala. Hans, a wonderful person with many friends from all over the world died on the 16th of January 2003 at the age of 34 (refs: Yomiuri Shimbun, obituaries: Sorin Gherman, Masatoshi Yamakawa, close friend, students.)
