This year's pair-Go title goes to Aoki Kikuyo,8p and Mimura Tomoyasu,9p who fought back from a bad position by killing a group of their opponents Kato Keiko,4p and O Rissei,9p. The final was played in Beijing, China and shown live on IGS. The subsequent exhibition match against the Chinese team featuring Nieh Weiping,9p was won as well with the smallest margins. more

Title holder Hane Naoki [jp] faces Kansai Ki-in's Yuki Satoshi [jp] for the 29th Kisei title. The 1st game is a good sample of latter's style: aggressive and non-compromising. After just 22 moves on the 1st day (close to a record) the game was decided on the 2nd day in a huge center battle. more
