| GoBase links Variation with Games |
While using the GoBase variation browser at any time we can request all games which match the current variation branch.
In this example we descended a few moves into branch [f]
and at that point request the games in which this position occured.
The very moment we do our request the first game is shown in the right side diagram. We enter the game at the point matching the requested position in the variation browser.
GoBase attracts our focus to the relevant part of the board by shading it. In this case the variation diagram and the game position match in the same orientation and even the colors are the same. This is a coincidence. Later we will see examples where the position will be rotated and even the colors might be swapped.
