GoBase.org has been down for 12 hours due to network problems beyond our control. We're sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused you. [2008-06-26]

The online Go World index has been updated with issue 114. Thanks to Klaus Blumberg, who maintains this index. [2008-05-31]

Earlier this year we reported about 321Go.org, a little brother of GoBase, focusing on newbies and young Go players. In the mean time the site has been translated into English and German (and partly even to French and Swedish). In case you're interested to create a version in your language then please take the guided tour and contact the 321Go team. [2008-04-02]

news

Hane Naoki

Hane Naoki, the challenger for the 63rd Honinbo title pulled one back against title holder Takao Shinji. In an interesting fighting game huge exchanges took place and eventually left Hane with clearly more territory. The match is covered live on IGS-PandaNet.

Takao Shinji

Hane Naoki, the challenger for the 63rd Honinbo title is facing an uphill battle after losing the 3rd game as well to title holder Takao Shinji. Facing kadoban Hane should pull every string and use every armor to try to damage Takao. The match is covered live on IGS-PandaNet.

Lee MinJin

Korean Lee MinJin takes her second world title with three straight wins against opponents from China and Japan, a remarkable achievement.

Takao Shinji

After losing the Kisei title match Cho Chikun also lost his Judan title to Honinbo Takao Shinji. The latter took the title with three straight wins.

Yamashita Keigo

Twenty-five years after Cho Chikun's spectacular win over Fujisawa Shuko this years Kisei title match was a comparable cliffhanger. Title holder Yamashita Keigo had to pull every string to keep challenger Cho Chikun from taking the title.

IGS-Pandanet will carry live coverage of the 36th Paris tournament, the final of the 2007-2008 PandaNet Go European Cup. Lots of events and the presence of several professional players. Highly recommended to attend or view on IGS-PandaNet.

Lee SeDol

Young Han SangHoon, 1p (remember?) gave Lee SeDol a good fight for the 12th LG Cup, he took the 1st game. But in the end the experience of Lee gave him the edge. Fascinating study material, recommended.

Chang Hao

Chang Hao wipes out all opponents to take the 9th NongShim Cup to China. Well, actually to keep the Cup in China since the last round was played in Shanghai. Chang Hao sequentially beats Yoda, Takao, Lee ChangHo and Park YoungHoon to decide the issue.
