GoBase Enhanced Website

In 1996 I decided to merge the functionality of GoBase with the content of the website thus making GoBase the storage and managing engine of the Go game records and the player database.

This gave the visitors some new features:

• they could now search for the occurrence of corner patterns
• full board positions, and
• various side positions.
• beside, they could create listings of Go games given various specifications, such as the year the game was played or the featuring players.
• finally, they could browse all players in the collection using the biography browser.

The collection had grown in the mean time to some 5000 professional games featuring some 1000 professionals. GoBase also proved useful while importing new information by checking consistency of the data for example.
