Description

The Hayago Meijin title is decided in a best of three match with 4 hours thinking time per person. The challenger comes from a knockout with 32 participants. The knockout preliminary tournament is played with 3 hours thinking time, in those days quite fast, therefore the name of this tournament: hayago (fast-Go) Meijin. The 1st edition of the tournament shows these stages, so you get an idea. This tournament was the predecessor of the Judan tournament.
