Subject: games on IGS
To the organisers of tournaments in the
Toyota Pandanet European Go Tour 2003-2004
Dear organiser,
This years tour will be followed more closely by the
sponsors. IGS Pandanet would like you to publish some
games of the tournament, live on IGS.
You can download PandaEgg as a client, at the homepage
of Pandanet:
http://www.pandanet.co.jp/English/
You can use the following account for entering the games during the tournament:
username: "EGCC"
password: 9caLb-iz
In the telnet window you can enter IGS commands:
set up a game:
teach ToyotaPanda
give the game a correct title:
title [game specs]
announce the game (don't forget to mention the timezone of the time):
shout [game specs], starts at xx:xx hrs. (GMT)
announce the start of the game:
shout [game specs], starts now
comments on the game for the observers:
kibitz ...
who is actually watching the game:
all
Please use uniform game specs:
Toyota Pandanet Tour, tournament, round rnd, name (black) vs name
where "tournament" is the name of your tournament
Tournaments are expected to have an internet connection
and (notebook) computer present in the main players room
and some organiser to enter the game record, preferably
a second volunteer to comment games with kibitz from
another computer.
But if you do not have an internet connection and/or
notebook computer present at the main players room,
maybe you can enter a game semi-life at IGS, maybe at
the home of an organiser.
Least option is to send an sgf-file with the game record
to the European Go Centre, so we can publish the game
from here.
The European Go Centre wants to assist you with these tasks.
Please contact us as soon as possible about your facilities
available to meet the expectations of the sponsor. Maybe we
can provide some manpower and technical support if needed.
Further issues:
1. The live braodcastings of the tournament games should be
announced in the flyers and on the website for the tournament.
Please mention the link of IGS:
http://www.pandanet.co.jp/English/
2. We will send posters with information of the services of
IGS-Pandanet to all tournament organisers. These posters
should be used at the location of the tournament, preferably
next to the place were you publish the pairings and results.
3. We will send an inquiry concerning IGS-Pandanet to be filled
out by the participants of the tournament. These inquiries
should be given during the registration procedure and should
be gathered by the organisation.
Hoping to receive your reply,
Kind regards,
William Wandel (Toyota Pandanet European Go Tour)
