Ke Jie started to play Go at 5 years of age.
He became a professional Go player in 2008 when he was 10 years old and was promoted to 9 dan January 2015.
At that time (2015) Ke won his first world title: the 2nd Bailing Cup, defeating fellow country man Qiu Jun 3-2 in the finals.
The same year (September) Ke became the highest ranked Chinese Go player.
Ke Jie played a three-game match against AlphaGo (0-3) at the Future of Go Summit in Wuzhen from 23 to 27 May 2017.
