- 1985
- Starts playing go at age 17 thanks to Jaap K. Blom (Shodan)
from the LgoC (Leiden Go Club)
- 1986
- Promoted to 1st dan by the NGoB (Dutch Go Association).
- 1987
- Promoted to 3rd dan by the NGoB, winner Leiden and Rotterdam tournaments.
- 1988
- Starts "trial" period at branch office Nihon Ki-In in Nagoya.
- 1989
- Accepted as "full" Insei (aspirant professional), Finishes 4th in
Insei league. (9 Insei at that time in Nagoya, 5 of which have
turned pro including Hane Naoki)
- 1990
- Finishes 3rd in Insei league.
- 1991
- Finishes 2nd in Insei league, quits Insei.
- 1992
- After moving to Tokyo helps Rob van Zeijst as go instructor.
- 1993
- Quits go altogether, picks up Mah Jong. (invited by this
sulfur-smelling guy)
- 1999
- After moving back to Nagoya area starts writing go articles
for magazines of the LgoC and NgoB.
- 2000
- Interviews go professionals including Go Seigen (article in
English at MSO).
Starts teaching go as a volunteer at Elementary schools in Nagoya.
Starts working as a go-instructor at the Gifu branch of the
Nihon Ki-In.
Starts "Gentle Joseki".
- 2001
- Publishes go articles in Japanese for the Nagoya Ki-In,
the Gifu Newspaper. Igo Kansai, magazine of the Kansai Ki-In
and the Nagoya Chubu Keizai Newspaper.
Assistant coach (to Ito, 8p) of the pre-Insei children's go class
at the Nihon Ki-In.
