The Fujitsu Cup is a knockout tournament with 16 participants starting in the first round and another 8 players joining in the second round (take a look at the 11th edition of this tournament for a typical draw). The participants for this tournament are taken from the Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Taiwanese professional Go scene joined by representatives of North and South America and Europe. The latter three players are selected by running local preliminary tournaments. The Fujitsu cup is denoted with a first prize of about USD 150,000.=
