This tournament is funded by Shanghai Ing Changqi Weiqi education foundations. Ing Changqi is the famous millionaire who invented the unique go rules - Ing rules and funded the most expensive international go tournament - Ing cup (the champion gets 400,000 dollar). The Changqi cup tournament is named by the similar pronunciation of his first name - Changqi, and started in 2004. The Changqi Cup is a knockout tournament featuring 24 players (the two previous finalists flow in, in the 2nd round). Thinking time is 3 hours each. Komi is 8.0 point.
