Cho Chikun did it. By winning the deciding game of the
best-of-five title match he became the 45th Judan. Cho
is Judan for three years in a row now, with a total of
six Judan titles. Challenger Yamashita Keigo will be
disappointed after failing to take the title for two

We will go all the way with the 45th Judan title between
Cho Chikun and his challenger Yamashita Keigo. The latter
was in good shape in the 4th game and seemingly easily
pulled out a victory against title holder Cho Chikun.
Cho is used to matches which go all the way, so will he
have the better nerves in the all-deciding game?

Challenger Yamashita Keigo pulls one back in the match
for the 45th Judan title against Cho Chikun. From the
start Cho was forced to find ways to deal with Yamashita's
huge moyo and while he skilfully managed to make one group
alive, another one perished.
The good news for Cho/Yamashita fans is that we'll see at
least one more game between them.
