The Amsterdam Go club is one of the oldest Go clubs in the Netherlands and thus at the same time one of the oldest Go clubs in Europe. It is a club with a rich history which we would like to illustrate with some web pages one day. The Amsterdam Go club has produced various famous Go players. For example, Max Rebattu, 5 dan, 7 times Dutch champion (in the years 1963-1977) or Robert Rehm, 5 dan, one of the very few Go players who attended all European Go congresses and even has been European champion once.

The club has played at a large number of locations in Amsterdam and right now meets in the thinking game bar Two Clubs (Twee Klaveren) in the western part of the old city. The club evening at Wednesday starts around 19:30h with Go lessons. The competition starts 20:30h and lasts in general till around 23:00h although the club is open till 01:00h.

At least once a year the club organises a Go beginners course for those who want to learn how to play Go. This year the course will start by the end of May and we still have some places available so if you don't play Go yet this is an opportunity! You can register with organiser Roel van Kollem.

We have our own magazine, Imago, which informs our members about the competition, special activities and just some stories about our club. Starting this year we also offer an online version of the magazine Imago (PDF format).
