The Oza title is recently decided in a best of five match. The challenger of the title holder is decided in a challenger knockout tournament featuring 16 players. The 49th edition gives you some idea of the tournament structure. Up to the 31st edition the title match was decided in a best to three match. Up to the 15th edition the title was decided by a match between the finalists of the knockout main tournament. Fujisawa Hideyuki was thus the first player to hold the title.
